According to Anthropic, new versions of the program are twice as likely to answer questions correctly, less likely to produce misinformation, and respond to customers’ priority requests. The company was founded in 2021 by former OpenAI employees and has become one of OpenAI’s strongest competitors.

The problem with chatbots that use large language models is that they tend to “hallucinate” or make up facts. Anthropic claims that new models of the Claude bot cope better with this problem and are twice as likely to respond correctly. The company is also implementing measures to increase the credibility of Claude’s work, including quoting sources.

The new models will be able to analyze images, giving them the ability to perform a variety of tasks, such as identifying the breed of dog in a photo or identifying a work of art. Despite competitors’ advances in rendering, Anthropic has no immediate plans to roll out the feature because it says customers don’t want it.
