Until then, it’s only possible to back up on iCloud. Connection over and through Wi-Fi 5G network of certain carriers. So IOS 16 should offer the option to backup over Wi-Fi and any carrier network.

“Customers using iOS 16 can now back up their devices over an LTE cellular connection as well as a 5G or Wi-Fi connection,” Apple said in the update.

According to Apple, the public beta should be released in July and The official launch is scheduled for the North American fall. (September to November). The new version of the operating system will include widgets, new iMessage, a redesigned lock screen with extended focus mode, among other possibilities.

Developer Beta program users can download the update from the Apple Developer Center. However, the company advises against installing iOS 16 beta 2 on a primary device as the beta version of the system can cause problems and delete important data on the device.

The first developer beta programs for iOS 16, iPadOS 16, tvOS 16, and watchOS 9 became available shortly after Apple’s presentation at WWDC 2022 on June 6th.
