The Moscow Stock Exchange reported record activity among private investors in February. This month, 4.1 million people made transactions on the trading platform, which is the highest number in the entire history of currency trading in Russia.
At the end of February, the number of people who had brokerage accounts on the Moscow Stock Exchange reached 30.7 million people: 54.3 million accounts were opened. In February, the share of individuals in the trading volume of stocks was 76%, and of bonds – 33%.
The volume of investments by private investors on the site in February increased year-on-year by 11% and reached 74.2 billion rubles. Of this amount, 59.1 billion rubles were invested in bonds, 4.6 billion rubles in stocks and 10.5 billion rubles in exchange-traded funds.
