The new SDK for embedded applications, which was previously only available to certain developers, will be available to everyone starting March 18. This opens up the possibility of embedding various mini-games, collaboration tools, and perhaps even full-fledged applications into Discord chats.
With the release of the SDK, Discord is also testing the ability to add apps to their accounts, which will allow users to run on different servers.
Discord is reviving its app creation program and is also offering developers funding (up to $30,000) for innovative app ideas. Examples of projects that received funding last year include artificial intelligence tools, an app for artists, and even a city-building game.
