“Tagras acquired a stake in Hive LLC, as venture investment is “one of the most important strategic tools” of the oilfield services group,” the press release clarifies.

VimpelCom hopes that having LLC Hive as a partner “expands its business horizons” and its expertise “strengthens the value proposition for startups.” According to VimpelCom Chief Innovation Officer Nikolai Evchenko, the company “intends to continue active investments in the coming years.”

Last August, Hive announced its intention to attract external partners. As of January 2024, this company has 15 startups in its portfolio. Following the agreement with Tagras, VimpelCom owns 80% of Hive LLC.

VimpelCom created Hive in 2022 to invest in startups and support entrepreneurship in the Russian Federation. This company’s portfolio includes restaurant cloud solutions service Restik, corporate training platform Kampus, marketing management service Callibri, video analytics system developer Candy Flip Robots, exam preparation service New School, the online platform Novator and the retail media Eshopmedia.

The “Tagras” holding company is a Russian oil services group created in 2006. The structure includes 8 divisions and 54 companies that provide a full range of services for companies in the oil and gas industry.
