Bereke Bank will stop working with cards from the Mir payment system. This is indicated on the bank’s website.
Starting March 17, it will no longer be possible to accept non-cash payments with Mir cards at the bank’s POS terminals. Transactions with cards from other payment systems will be fully available, Bereke Bank noted.
The operator of the Mir payment system is the National Payment Card System. In February, the United States imposed sanctions on the NSPK.
Bereke Bank was previously a subsidiary of Sberbank and was subject to US sanctions. In September 2022, Sberbank sold all shares of the company to the Baiterek holding. The United States later lifted sanctions on Bereke Bank.
