During a session for EU developers, Apple provided some information about fees for placement in peripheral app stores.
One of the developers, Riley Testut, the creator of AltStore, said that in high school he created an application that was distributed over the App Store – it was downloaded more than 10 million times. According to the new App Store guidelines, the Test had to be awarded to Apple in the amount of 5 million euros due to the commission.
In this regard, the question arose – what should developers do who want to locate in other stores, but their offer suddenly went viral? Where to get money from?
Apple’s Kyle Andir explained that Apple still hasn’t found a solution to this problem. So far, the company has seen virtually no incidents, but they are still looking for the expected solution.
We want people to continue to feel safe and not afraid. What, hey, I have four children, but I don’t have 5 million euros to happen. This is what we need to find out.
And that’s what we’re working on. So I’d say stay tuned.
— Kyle Andir
Apple continues to study development issues and refine them accordingly. However, while the company does not have a solution to all problems, it is working on it. [9to5]
