Russian electronics supplier Merlion has registered a trademark for its own SSD drives, power supplies and computer cases. The components will be produced in China. The company intends to sell them at retail.

In March, Merlion registered the domain King.price.ru. The King Price trademark was registered by Merlion LLC in mid-October 2022, Kommersant writes.

Experts say other market participants may formally launch Russian private labels made in China, but they doubt they can beat Chinese own brands in retail.

According to SPARK-Interfax, Merlion LLC’s revenue in 2022 amounted to 192 billion rubles, net profit – 2.3 billion rubles.
