WhatsApp is testing the use of Statuses for up to 1 minutereported website WABetaInfo. The new feature was found in the Beta version of the messaging app for Android but is expected to be released for more platforms soon.
Since its launch, WhatsApp Statuses have allowed temporary video posts of up to 30 seconds. However, the maximum duration is quite restrictive and does not comply with the standard adopted by Instagram, which, for example, allows posts of up to 60 seconds since 2022.
Finally, WhatsApp seems to solve this problem with Statuses of up to 60 seconds. The tool allows you to capture videos from your mobile phone’s gallery and trim them until they reach the new maximum length.
Thanks to the new feature, the WhatsApp community will be able to share more content from Status without having to use multiple posts sequentially.
No future date
The new feature was found in version 2.24.6.19 of WhatsApp, but it is not available to all test users. According to WABetaInfoThe vehicle is gradually released.
Since this is a function still being tested, No predictions for exact release. Statuses up to 1 minute should probably be released for other platforms (iOS, Web, and Desktop) before becoming generally available.
Meta development team continues at full speed. Recently, Brazil’s most popular application has been given features such as the ability to find messages on certain dates and four new text formats.
