The Expert RA rating agency has drawn up a ranking of the largest banks providing loans to small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) based on the results of 2023. Among the leaders are Sberbank, Alfa Bank and Rosselkhozbank.

In 2023, the SME loan market continued to grow: SMEs received loans totaling 15.9 trillion rubles, 40% more than in 2022. As a result, the SME loan portfolio at the end of 2023 amounted to 12.4 trillion rubles (an increase of 29% year-on-year).
The development of the segment was influenced by the ongoing transformation of the economy in the context of sanctions pressure on large companies: SMEs are more actively participating in the restructuring of supply chains and the development of niche companies that They have abandoned the Russian market.
At the same time, at the end of 2023, the volume of overdue debt of SMEs on banks’ balance sheets reached 620 billion rubles, 15% more than at the end of 2022. This is the growth rate of overdue debt highest since 2017.

- Sberbank – 5.47 trillion rubles;
- Alfa Bank – 587.9 billion rubles;
- Rosselkhozbank – 386.8 billion rubles;
- Promsvyazbank – 384.3 billion rubles;
- “DOM.RF” – 102 billion rubles;
- “SME Bank”: 73.5 billion rubles;
- TKB Bank: 62 billion rubles;
- Kuban credit: 49.9 billion rubles;
- CB “Center-invest” – 35 billion rubles;
- Primsotsbank: 34.7 billion rubles.
