Elon Musk’s neurotechnology company Neuralink showed the first results of a chip implanted in the human brain. Neuralink published a video on the social network X (formerly Twitter) with Nolan Arbo, 29, who controls pieces with his mind in online chess.

Last month, Musk said the first patient with a Neuralink implant had learned to control a computer mouse with his mind.
In the video released, the patient explains how he became paralyzed eight years ago after an unfortunate diving incident. Now Nolan can’t feel his body below his shoulders. In the video, a young man shows how he approaches the online chess game, controlling the pieces using the power of his thinking.
According to the patient, the implantation operation itself was very simple, despite the need to open the skull. However, Nolan points out that the tests did not go entirely well and that there is still a lot of work to be done.
Neuralink first implanted a chip in the human brain on January 28 of this year.
