India became Russia’s largest supplier of medicines at the end of 2023. This was reported by RBC with reference to data from RNC Pharma analysts.

In 2021 and 2022, Germany was the leader in the supply of medicines to Russia, but in 2023 imports decreased by 20%, to 238.7 million containers. India, for its part, increased supply by 3%, up to 293.9 million packages.

The five largest drug exporters to Russia include France, with export growth of 7.6%, Hungary (+11.6%) and Belarus (+6.9%).

The total volume of Russian imports of medicines at the end of the year increased by 1.5% year-on-year and amounted to 1.8 billion packages. At the same time, Russian drug manufacturers are represented on the market by a total of 4.1 billion packages.
