More than half of Russian businessmen register intellectual property rights. This is stated in a study by the law firm Tkach and Partners and the educational platform Moscow Digital School, part of Ultimate Education.
At the same time, almost all respondents indicated that they encounter difficulties in protecting their intellectual property. 34% of respondents consider that the main obstacle is the difficulty in confirming ownership. 19% noted an insufficient legislative framework; Respondents also mentioned the high cost of the rights registration process.
According to the survey results, about 70% of companies use outsourcing services to protect intellectual property, almost half of them rely completely on outsourcing, and the other part uses such services partially.
The survey was conducted in March 2024 and more than 150 Russian companies participated.
