A simple solution is a parking brake. But a permanent fix requires a trip to the dealer. Affected models include all 2020-2023 Telluride models and some 2024 Telluride models.

Kia recommends contacting your customer service center or local dealer to determine if your Telluride is affected by the recall.

Kia encourages owners to look for possible warning signs that could indicate a problem, such as squeaking noises or loss of power. The correction will be free. Kia dealers in the United States will update the software and replace damaged intermediate shafts.

Until the problem is resolved, Kia encourages drivers to get into the habit of using the parking brake.
