Soyuz-5 has been developed as a part of the Russian-Kazakh project designed to launch automatic satellites into close orbit. This launch tool is a promising Russian middle class spacecraft with increasing carrying capacity.

The first test launch is planned for the end of December this year and a full -scale operation is planned until 2028.
