Scientists from the Artificial Intelligence Center of the National Research University Higher School of Economics have developed a system for detecting dyslexia in schoolchildren. It uses machine learning and analyzes eye movements to identify reading problems in children. The program is planned to go into clinical practice in 2024.

The Dyslector app works with a portable video-oculograph to record the student’s eye movements. Once the data is collected, the project team uses machine learning techniques to analyze and classify these movements. This helps determine the risk of developing dyslexia and identify problem reading areas in the child.

Dyslexia is a learning disorder that affects the ability to read. Children with dyslexia need professional help to learn successfully.
