In the code of the first beta version of iPadOS 17.5, a mention of the Battery Health function on the iPhone was found.
It is expected that a similar feature will migrate to the new iPad. Here are the lines that the MacRumors developers found:
• The iPad must be used while it is not plugged in to show the charger cover.
• This is the number of times iPad used your battery.
• iPad battery performs as expected
• The iPad battery, like all rechargeable batteries, has a limited life and may eventually need servicing or replacement.
• The original battery was designed to maintain X capacity over X cycles under ideal conditions. Actual battery performance depends on a number of factors, including how iPad is used and regularly charged. The one-year warranty includes service for defective batteries in addition to LEDs, subject to consumer protection laws.
Why do these statements refer specifically to the new iPad, but this is not entirely relevant?
Until now, the iPad didn’t have a Battery Health menu, and the new tablets are rumored to be unveiled in May. Then the same executive will release iPadOS 17.5. Plus, a similar feature is only available in the iPhone 15 line, but not in older iPhones.
