The postponement of previous starts was caused by technical malfunctions: first due to problems with the pressurization of the oxidizer tank, and then due to a malfunction in the engine start control system. However, Roscosmos head Yuri Borisov said that nothing serious has happened so far that would require dismantling the rocket.
The launch is planned for Thursday at 12:00 Moscow time. After liftoff, Orion’s upper stage will separate from the rocket and continue pushing it toward its target orbit.
This launch will also be the first for Angara from the Vostochny Cosmodrome. Previously, rockets of this family were used only from the Plesetsk cosmodrome. With this launch, tests of the Amur space rocket complex will begin and the first flight of the Orion upper stage will also take place.
