FSTEC plans to change its software certification process by the end of 2024. Developers will be able to update previously qualified products without the need for recertification. These changes are being discussed by the technical committee for standardization of “Information Protection” under FSTEC.

The essence of the changes is that FSTEC now certifies the development process, not the finished product. This will accelerate digitalization and use official security proof.

The certification process often takes a long time, which can slow down the development and implementation of new technologies. But the new rules are supposed to help simplify the process and make it more efficient.
