Russian Railways (RZD) has released a new application for smartphones with which you can buy train tickets, the company’s press service reported. This web application called Russian Railways Passengers is available on all mobile devices and operating systems.
Deputy General Director of Russian Railways Evgeny Charkin emphasized that the new web application retains all the main functions of the ticket.rzd.ru portal, including the purchase of train tickets and the use of bonuses from the Russian Railways Bonus loyalty program. It is planned to add the feature of purchasing tickets for suburban trains to future versions of the application.
Deputy General Director of Russian Railways Ivan Kolesnikov noted that the PWA application will be an alternative to mobile applications and will allow users to receive a wide range of services without restrictions and from application stores. Additional improvements are planned to increase functionality and ease of use in the application and website.
