A study published in the IEEE Communications Society Open Journal proposes using this technique to optimize the performance of wireless networks. The new method takes into account the location of all users and the possibility of data packet collisions, allowing us to determine the optimal location of users for maximum throughput. According to the scientists, their method showed an improvement in the throughput of Wi-Fi access points by up to 6%.
Although such techniques are not always practical, they can be useful in high-traffic, low-traffic environments such as libraries and classrooms, where network optimization can improve wireless Internet performance.
