Sales revenue increased to 112.6 billion rubles (+24% year-on-year). The company’s materials reflect a 70% increase in the number of orders in the first quarter. The number of buyers increased by 32%.
The main factors for the growth of total revenues in the report indicate high indicators of service revenues (+39%). The growth of the indicator is mainly due to the effectiveness of advertising services and the growth in the percentage of revenue of the fintech Ozon Holdings PLC.
At the same time, at the end of the first quarter, Ozon recorded a loss of 13.2 billion rubles against a profit of 10.7 billion in the first quarter of 2023. Adjusted EBITDA increased by 16% year-on-year and amounted to 9.3 billion. The growth is explained by an increase in gross profit.
Furthermore, in the first quarter of the year, Ozon set a new record. The number of sellers on the site exceeded half a million. Of them, more than 80% are sellers from Russian regions.
The marketplace was able to significantly increase its customer base as well as introduce several new B2B and B2C services to the market. Thanks to this, the income of the finance department tripled and reached 14.6 billion rubles.
Earlier Tuesday, Wildberries CEO Tatyana Bakalchuk said that in 2023 the site’s turnover amounted to more than 2.5 trillion rubles.
