Details of the case have not yet been disclosed. The Federal Tax Service argued that the deal was an attempt by IKEA to avoid paying taxes in Russia.

In March, the court accepted the request of the Federal Tax Service to take temporary measures to freeze Torg LLC’s assets, including cash, up to 12.9 billion rubles. In support of its petition, the Federal Tax Service stated that failure to take such measures could make implementation of the court decision difficult or impossible.

In 2022, Torg LLC’s revenue was 38 billion rubles, and its net loss was almost 2 billion rubles.
