“These measures, directed against legitimate economic activity, are further proof of Russia’s disregard for international law and norms,” the EEAS press service said in a statement.

The agency called the Russian Federation “an unpredictable player in the economic sphere” and the business climate in the country “arbitrary and hostile to foreign investors.”

The EU authorities asked to reconsider the transfer of Ariston and Bosch subsidiaries and to look for “acceptable” solutions in relation to foreign companies.

Last week, Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the transfer to the temporary management of Gazprom Household Systems of 100% of Ariston Thermo Rus, owned by the Italian holding Ariston, as well as 100% of BSH Household Appliances, a subsidiary of the German BSH. Hausgeräte.
