Sources claim that Microsoft is so worried about this issue that it has not even ruled out the possibility of attracting another studio to develop the game if Bethesda does not meet the deadline.
The reason is simple: Bethesda is currently completely busy creating The Elder Scrolls VI, so it will not be possible to quickly complete work on Fallout 5.
Successor candidates include inXile Entertainment (Wasteland) and Obsidian Entertainment (Fallout: New Vegas, The Outer Worlds).
The question of how long it will take for the new studio to develop Fallout 5 remains valid. Insiders believe Microsoft wants to release the game within the next few years, but the feasibility of that goal is questionable.
