SpaceX representatives explained that this was part of the plan. The April 28 mission required using nearly all of the Falcon 9’s fuel.

Thanks to this, the company was able to successfully launch all the necessary cargo into medium Earth orbit. But for this reason the rocket had to be sacrificed. Falcon 9 failed to make a soft landing.

A similar incident occurred with Falcon 9 in November 2022. Typically, SpaceX returns its rockets to the launch pad.

The Falcon 9 used in the last mission has already completed 20 flights. On average, the Falcon 9 can withstand up to 40 launches.
