According to the new study, when the optimists dreamed of the future, they showed similar activity patterns in the key area of the brain, but the patterns of the activity of pessimists were different. The results of this study were published in the US National Academy of Sciences Procedings.
While scientists imagine the future events that arise with themselves or their spouses, they scan the brain of the participants using the functional magnetic resonance imaging (FMRT) device. Some of these events were positive, some were negative, some were neutral.
It turned out that couples of only two optimistic people had similar brain activation. In addition, it was found that optimists observe more significant differences between pessimists and emotionally positive and negative events and brain activity patterns.
