Last year, more precisely in the month of November, WhatsApp introduced a native application for use on Windowsas we told you well.

This application, instead of using Electron, a framework owned by Github (used by thousands of applications these days), uses the Windows native language, for maximum compatibility, performance and smoothness.

While Electron works pretty well and allows you to conveniently port your web application and have it in app format, which pretty much does, using a non-native language is not always the best idea.

That’s why, by presenting their application adapted to UWP (Universal Windows Platform), WhatsApp working on a native version for Apple laptops and computers running macOS.

This decision was made primarily because of the WhatsApp client for MacOS, which we can install from the App Store. it’s based on Electron and its performance is lousy to say the least.. Absurd loading times, large amounts of RAM, sudden shutdowns…

There are many challenges that this platform gives today and Looks like Meta is getting tired of this.and decides to finally fix this situation.

Precisely because of this this application will use Mac Catalystwhich will significantly reduce loading time, exponentially increase the smoothness of the application, and will also be much more stable and will consume less resources.

It also looks like it was made right after the release of the Windows version, that will come with support for multiple deviceswhich will allow us to use WhatsApp even faster on MacOS computers.

This version is currently is under internal testingand thanks to WaBetaInfo, we were able to see the first official screenshot of this application, which we already showed you earlier in the article.

That being said, if you’re a macOS user like me and decide to use the web version of WhatsApp instead of the Electron-based app from the App Store due to its issues, you can be happy as all those issues will be resolved.

We will be waiting for a possible desktop beta where we can test this application and we will provide you with our impressions and evaluation to you can decide whether to upgrade to this new version or wait until it becomes stable in the future. and fully functional.
