The aim is to protect the consumer from fake and low quality products. The marking code allows you to track the path of caviar from the producer to the store, which makes it possible to check its legality and safety.

Both caviar in jars and caviar in plastic cube containers are subject to labeling. The marking code is applied to the packaging and can be checked using a special mobile application.

According to Revaz Yusupov, Deputy Director General of CRPT (operator of the “Honest Sign” system), the level of readiness of the industry for labeling is high. Even before the start of mandatory requirements, more than 4.5 thousand pieces of labeled caviar were put into circulation.

The caviar marking experiment began on April 15, 2023 and ended on March 31, 2024. During this time, 110 companies participated, including 68 caviar producers.
