Experts from Sechenov University have developed a tool that can significantly reduce the time of operations on the thyroid gland by half or more to create tunnels under the skin. This tool helps surgeons get under a person’s skin and muscles with an endoscope and other tools, minimizing soft tissue damage and bleeding.

This method aims to popularize less traumatic operations and integrate them into medical practice. Created using 3D printing technology, it has a special shape that prevents tissue damage and can reduce surgery time by at least half.

The developers plan to register a new medical product and expect it to be in demand in video endoscopic surgery. The project received support within the framework of the acceleration program of the federal project “University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform”.
