A research and development center will be created in Ivanovo; The Aquarius plant in Shuya plans to produce between 10,000 and 100,000 microcontrollers per year. Investments in the project will exceed 100 million rubles, Kommersant reported.
According to market participants, these components will be popular. Experts have several questions about the project: from the clearly underestimated amount of investment to the prospect of using the British ARM architecture, which creates risks when used in critical IT infrastructures.
- In November 2023, it became known that Aquarius plans to invest 40 billion rubles in expanding production and creating new products, in particular televisions, watches and smart speakers. To this end, the electronics manufacturer asked the government to partially co-finance projects, introduce sales incentives through preferential loans and limit parallel imports of foreign electronic products.
