Today there will be a presentation of Apple, which was announced 2 weeks ago. Over the entire past year, buyers did not change a single new iPad model; some tablets have not been updated for more than 2 years. Today’s presentation will definitely be dedicated to tablets (the photo with the invitation also hints at this), but you shouldn’t expect updates for all lines.
Topic: What gadgets and accessories can we expect from Apple in 2024?
The presentation is rumored to last only 35 minutes. Interestingly, today’s presentation will break the record for the duration of a very short Apple event.
We collected all the rumors and disappearances about upcoming infections.
iPad Pro with M4 processor
◉ One of the main innovations of the new generation iPad Pro is being assembled Apple M4 processors. The tablets could be the first Apple phones to use the new chip.
Most likely, the processors were developed taking into account the new neural network features presented only with the release of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 at WWDC 24 in the summer.
◉ Expected to receive a new line of “professional” tablets best OLED screens on the market.
The exact parameters of the matrix have not yet been disclosed, but they are already explaining that there may be a delay in the supply of 11-inch models.
◉ The new iPad Pro may have a software option to show the remaining battery charge and the number of charge cycles.
The new tablets were going to be presented in March or later, but due to problems with components, the presentation was postponed until early May.
iPad Air with M2 chips and 12-inch model
◉ It is expected that the Cupertino team will show the first iPad Air with a large screen diagonal. This will be the main feature of the new “air” tablets. Cases for the 12-inch iPad Air have already been seen on sale.
The imminent arrival of the new iPad Air hints at the fact that many Apple Stores are running out of stock of the current generation iPad Air.
◉ It was previously known that Apple has registered 4 new iPad models in India. Most likely, these are two Pro models and two Air models.
◉ Changes in the hardware will be minor; most likely, the Air line will receive processors Apple M2. For tablets this will already be enough, but installing newer M3 chips is impractical. Cupertino residents are faced with the differences between the Air and Pro lines.
Apple Pencil Pro with pressure sensitivity and new gesture
◉ There are still few rumors about the new stylus. The accessory is on Apple’s official invitation, and a mention of it was found on the company’s Japanese website.
◉ The stylus can impart sensuality by squeezing the area, as in AirPods Pro and a new gesture associated with it in the system.
◉ You can also teach the stylus to work together with the Vision Pro headset. So on the streets there are not just waving arms using an Apple helmet, but also artists drawing in the air with a stylus.
What will not be shown at the presentation on May 7
▶ Basic iPad and iPad mini. These changes will be made in the fall of 2024.
▶ Third party apps on iPad. The topic is relevant for Europe, after iOS, parliamentarians are demanding an end to the App Store monopoly on iPadOS. There is still time to ensure new norms. Most likely, we will see applications from third-party stores on the iPad.
▶ Using the Calculator on iPad. The utility is being developed by Apple, but it was shown in the summer along with the new iPadOS 18 system device.
▶ Mac computers on M4. Such models will be presented later this year or this fall.
▶ New AirPods models. The development of a new headset at Apple is underway, but the possible release date is the 4th quarter of 2024.
There is very little time left to wait, the presentation will take place on May 7 at 17:00 Moscow time. As always, you can find out about everything new and interesting on iPhones.ru.
