The system can already detect violations related to the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as lack of a helmet or gloves.
NSTU’s development works on the basis of a camera that records in real time what is happening in production. The press service noted that the video stream from the camera goes to a computer, where computer vision algorithms analyze violations.
Information about detected violations can be automatically transmitted to the control center for rapid response.
As explained by Ivan Tamilov, Head of the Department of Automatic Control Systems at NSTU, one of the authors of the development, computer vision allows you to automatically extract information from images.
To train the neural network that forms the basis of the system, continuous and uninterrupted images need to be shown repeatedly.
