The distinguishing feature of the new product is its size, comparable to the iPhone. The device is equipped with the Intel N100 processor from the Alder Lake-N series, which is a quad-core chip with a maximum frequency of up to 3.4 GHz.
The processor is paired with 8 GB LPDDR5-4800 RAM. However, due to its compact size, the mini PC does not offer storage upgrade options but is equipped with 256 GB UFS 2.1 memory.
Despite the lack of an NVMe drive, the read and write speeds of UFS 2.1 remain quite high.
The Minisforum S100 can operate from USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C or via an Ethernet port that also supports PoE power. The computer is equipped with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, supports connecting up to two 4K monitors simultaneously and comes pre-installed with Windows 11 Home.
According to the manufacturer, the minicomputer is currently available for purchase in Japan at a special price of around $193.
