Information storage regulators (ISO) are now required to store IP addresses of users and sites. The Ministry’s proposal is to add information about network ports (identifiers and resource addresses of programs or processes that serve network connections) to these data.
Representatives of the agency explain the need for this step by saying that the lack of expanded information about users makes it difficult to detect those who publish or transmit illegal content. But such changes raise concerns among experts who believe it could lead to increased controls and restrictions on the internet.
So far, the Ministry has not provided an official response to questions about this proposal. But experts are currently discussing the potential consequences of expanding the list of user data for Internet resources.
