A group of volunteers developed AjudeRS, a platform that shows where it is possible to find people in need of rescue during the floods that hit Rio Grande do Sul. If you have internet access, the victim needs to access the website and select the address. Select “Add event” or send information via WhatsApp by number +55 67 99963-4831. Once the data is filled in, the request for help is saved.

After registration, the team behind AjudeRS can reveal where the victim is and even the type of challenge, such as “no power,” “need urgent rescue,” “no food.” The website also displays information such as the status of people who have already found shelter or are isolated or even missing.

Thais Torres, one of the creators of the project, says the following about this idea: “On Friday night, I realized the magnitude of the tragedy and was worried not only about people, but also animals. I started looking for plane tickets to the region. That’s when my partner, Caio Kaspary, thought of a digital solution that could affect a larger number of people .”

The team also reported that the website also allows registration of people who want to contribute donations and even help with rescue efforts. It is worth noting that the platform is open 24 hours a day.
