Although OpenAI has not officially confirmed a launch date, the search engine will reportedly work similarly to the company’s ChatGPT. Users will be able to ask questions and get answers with quotes and related images from a variety of online sources, such as news articles, blogs, and Wikipedia.
This functionality appears to be a direct challenge to Google’s Search Generative Experience (SGE), which is currently being tested with a limited audience. Both companies are clearly pushing the boundaries of AI-powered search, aiming to provide users with richer, more informative results.
