The new product is an improved version of the previous model, again powered by the AMD Ryzen Z1 APU, but now only in a configuration with the high-end Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip.
This processor has 8 cores, 16 threads, maximum frequency up to 5.1 GHz, 12 RDNA 3 compute units and 24 MB cache. The model allows you to adjust power consumption from 9 to 30 W.
The main improvements affected the battery and storage system. The battery is increased by 30-40%, providing twice the battery life compared to the original model.
Installation of up to 8TB NVMe M.2 SSD is also now supported. Additionally, the memory has been updated to the LPDDR5X-7500 standard.
The design of the console remains the same; Including a 7-inch FullHD display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 500 nits. The new model has improved SD card placement to eliminate overheating problems.
The Asus ROG Ally X will come in black color and is expected to be priced higher than the original model ($699). More information is expected at Computex 2024 on June 2.
