Apple has entered into an agreement with OpenAI to use the tech startup for the iPhone.
The two sides are still finalizing the terms of a pact to use ChatGPT features in iOS 18, the people, who asked to remain anonymous, told Bloomberg. Apple also held talks with Google on the Gemini chatbot in Western countries. These discussions did not lead to an agreement, and negotiations are ongoing.
Representatives for Apple, OpenAI and Google declined to comment.
What exactly will be used in iOS 18 is unknown. However, there is always a chance to become the leader of ChatGPT in the operating system. The exact time this is known, the companies have not yet announced the government. [Bloomberg]
