The court accepted the lawsuit of a private investor against the Euroclear depositary for 17.8 thousand dollars. The claim was satisfied in its entirety, for the first time in this judicial practice. Previously, claims against Euroclear were partially satisfied.

The Moscow Arbitration Court accepted the lawsuit of businesswoman Elida Khasanova against the European depository Euroclear for the recovery of 17.8 thousand dollars. This is indicated in the court file, the details of the decision were clarified by RBC.
The lawsuit, filed in the summer of 2023, was fully satisfied for the first time in said judicial practice. The total amount of the claim was $17.8 thousand, of which $16.9 is the cost of the redeemed bonds and $902 is the coupon income.
Previously, the Arbitration Court had already satisfied the claims against Euroclear, but only partially. The private investor sued the depositary for 10.1 thousand dollars (at the exchange rate in effect at the time of the execution of the court decision), although claims were filed for 582.4 thousand dollars.
Investors have filed lawsuits against Euroclear and other custodians that have frozen Russian assets since the fall of 2022. During the first quarter, Euroclear earned more than €1.6 billion in interest income from these assets.
