This Monday (11), WhatsApp won an update that lets you use any emoji to react to messages. The novelty was added to the app in May, but only made six different emojis available. It is now available to everyone on both Android and iOS.

Announced by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the update was already in the plans for the app and was being tested in beta versions of the app. “We are launching the ability to use any emoji as a reaction. [à mensagens] on WhatsApp,” the admin posted on Facebook.

Today’s version is global and should be made available for all platforms, including desktop computers. However, not all app users need to have all emojis right away. It is possible that some users will receive the news within a few days of the update.

in tests done by TecMundo, reactions with any emoji are now available for mobile platforms, but not yet in the web version of WhatsApp. However, how the tool works remains the same: On mobiles, touch and hold a message for the pop-up menu to appear, and then tap the “+” (plus) button to select an emoji from the list.
