Under the terms of the deal with Bill Gates, Melinda Gates will receive $12.5 billion after leaving the fund. She plans to use this money for charitable purposes in the interests of women and families.
Divorced in 2021, Bill and Melinda Gates founded the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 2000. It is one of the largest private charitable foundations in the United States. According to the latest data, the fund’s assets amount to $50.7 billion.
By the end of 2023, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation donated a record $8.3 billion to charities.
