Popular communication service WhatsApp has received an update that supports your privacy. With new options, you control who sees your profile picture, info page, and last seen status, and most importantly, who doesn’t. How does it work?

You now have an extra setting at your disposal for the three specified components. Next Everyonemy contacts and Nooneyou now have access except my contacts

When you tap on this last option, your contact list will appear. People you choose from this list will no longer see your details, profile picture and last minute online. This gives you a little more control over who sees what in the app.

The next step is for WhatsApp to turn things around and there might be an option like this: except anyone would offer. Then it will be much easier for you to determine for yourself who sees what and you will soon be left with a significant group of people who see everything you want to share about you and prevent others from getting everything.

Now you can still edit this with the current option, but it takes a little more time. You now choose people who are not allowed to see anything, instead of people who are allowed to see something. Well, it might just be a preference.

Set WhatsApp privacy options

Setting up the new privacy options for WhatsApp is pretty simple. When you open the app and go to settings, follow the steps below to choose who can no longer see which cool photo you have on your profile.

  • Now press the big green button you see at the bottom right of the screen

You can see a few tips on the page where WhatsApp explains how the new function works. Now that you have a look at the settings, check everything once.
