The innovation is currently available only to a small group of users and its widespread implementation is not planned in the near future.

This move makes TikTok a rival to YouTube as the platform had previously focused on short videos but is now exploring longer videos.

Many creators, such as chefs and teachers, complain about current time limits, and increasing the limit to 60 minutes would give them more room to be creative.

TechCrunch notes that this feature may attract the attention of new creators who have previously published their videos on YouTube.

Longer videos could also pave the way for new content formats, such as full episodes of TV series.
