Brazil could be the next country to build an Apple iPhone with USB-C.
Brazilian regulatory agency Anatel is proposing new charging port requirements for smartphone makers to include a USB-C connector. It provides “more consumption for consumers” and can also reduce waste because they can reuse their power adapters no matter what device they have.
Earlier, the European Parliament Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection finalized the assembly of a single connector for charging smartphones.
Brazil follows EU and US as it makes it mandatory to use USB-C for iPhone
Apple is under intense pressure to replace the Lightning connector with the USB-C standard on the iPhone. After the European Union decided that USB-C would become mandatory for mobile devices and US senators considered a similar policy, Brazil could now be the next country to force Apple to build an iPhone with USB-C.
