Stomach cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide. Experts are now seeing an alarming rise in cases of this type of cancer among people under 50.

Salt intake is often associated with the development of dementia and type 2 diabetes. However, some studies show that too much of this spice has a negative effect on the stomach and makes it more sensitive to Helicobacter pylori bacteria. This increases the likelihood of getting cancer.

Other scientific studies point to a link between stomach cancer and salt intake. Moreover, regardless of the presence of Helicobacter pylori.

Experts from the Medical University of Vienna found that there is indeed a link between the risk of stomach cancer and a person’s salt intake. As part of the study, they analyzed data from the UK Biobank. This included 471,144 people, their average age was 56 years and 53.9% were women.

It turns out that people who always add salt to their food at the table are 41% more likely to develop stomach cancer than those who rarely or never do this.
