Game developer Nexters, founded by Russians Boris Gertsovsky and Andrey Fadeev, sold the Russian business for 500 rubles. Nexter’s business in Russia consists of three LLCs and a 70% stake in another company.

Nexters sold the Russian business for 500 rubles

Information about game developer Nexters’ sale of its business in Russia is contained in documents the company filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Nexters sold three entire companies – Nexters Studio LLC, Nexters Online LLC and Lightmap LLC – and a 70% stake in Game Positive LLC. The transaction amount for points was 200, 100, 100 and 100 rubles, respectively.

Nexters did not disclose the names of the new owners of its Russian business. Information about the transaction is not yet reflected in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. The decision to sell was made by the board of directors of the company, the aim was to reduce the “country risk” in relation to Russia.

Losses from the sale of subsidiaries in Russia were estimated at Nexters at $2.17 million. Another $7.69 million is in developer accounts.

In early August, Igor Bukhman, Boris Gertsovsky and Ivan Tavrin left the Nexters board of directors. Tavrin will leave all leadership positions, Bukhman and Gertsovsky will continue to participate in the management of Nexters.

At the end of June, the co-founder and director of Nexters, Andrey Fadeev, announced the dismissal of a quarter of the state of the company – 235 people.
