2019 saw a major breakthrough in internet culture as social media began to be seen as influential person named Belle Delphine was selling her bath water, and what a surprise: it was a hit.
This trick brought him $90 thousand in income. In a thread on X, the adult content creator and model also explained that due to PayPal, the payment processing system she used to make the sales, she never received a cent of the money.
“PayPal closed my PayPal account without warning and took away the $90,000 I made selling bath water,” Belle Delphine wrote.
The lawsuit filed by Belle Delphine, whose real name is Mary-Belle Kirchner, has been answered, and according to the report Business InsiderPayPal reversed this decision, and five years later the company returned all profits from the sale of bath water to Belle Delphine.
According to PayPal’s current terms of service, the payment processor only allows “transactions in the United States for certain physical sexually explicit items that are physically delivered to the buyer,” which appears to be throwing water in the bath. But Kirchner wrote that despite this, he appeared to have violated PayPal’s policies and that each sale was considered an individual violation, subject to a $2,500 fine. He also explained that the money was not refunded to his customers and that he still shipped the product and shipping to the United States cost him $11 per can.
This was announced by a PayPal representative. Business Insider the $2,500 fine policy was ended a year ago, but Kirchner said the money wasn’t returned until she made it public earlier this month.
“It sucks because what are all the regular users who are not on social media supposed to do in this situation?” he said? Business Insider. “I followed all the normal protocols, but they blocked my way and I gave up.”
