The head of Samsung’s semiconductor division has resigned due to poor financial results. Samsung has lost its leadership in this area to SK Hynix, which has better taken advantage of the increase in demand for AI chips.

Samsung has replaced the head of the Device Solutions division, responsible for the production of microprocessors and chips. This was announced by the South Korean company in a press release.
The already former head of the division, Kyung Kye-hyun, resigned of his own free will due to unsatisfactory financial results.
Samsung has lost its lead in chip production to SK Hynix, the world’s largest manufacturer of high-performance microprocessors. The company’s production volume is already booked for the entire current year.
The new head of Samsung’s semiconductor division is Chun Yoon Hyun, who has worked at the company since 2000. He previously designed core DRAM and flash storage chips.
