The provider of the application is Justice AV Solutions, a software manufacturer based in Louisville. The cracked version of JAVS Viewer 8.3.7 was available for download until April 1. Legitimate “Justice AV Solutions Inc.” loader with the back signature “Vanguard Tech Limited” instead. Experts say it poses a serious danger. Once installed, it stole browser passwords and system data by communicating with a command and control server.
Researchers recommend that those using version 8.3.7 take immediate action to reset their credentials and install the latest version. Removing compromised software is not enough, as additional backdoors may have been added.
Justice AV Solutions confirmed the attack and removed the malicious installer from the website. They assured users that the files available on their site are genuine and free of malware.
